Astaxanthin

Astaxanthin is a naturally occurring red carotenoid found in certain algae and marine organisms. It is especially concentrated in Haematococcus pluvialis, a freshwater microalga widely used as a natural source for supplements.

Its main value comes from its strong antioxidant activity, helping protect cells and tissues from oxidative stress.
