What is K9+ Octane™ designed for?

K9+ Octane™ is a performance-focused nutritional formula for dogs undertaking intense physical work or exercise. It combines nutrients supporting energy metabolism, muscles, joints, cardiovascular function and post-exercise recovery.

Is Octane only for working farm dogs?

No. Farm and mustering dogs are an obvious fit, but the formulation may also suit hunting dogs, gun dogs, agility dogs, sporting dogs and other highly active canine athletes.

Does my dog need to take Octane every day?

Octane is designed primarily for use around high-intensity working or exercise days rather than requiring continuous daily loading.

How much should I give my dog?

Give 1 tablet per 10kg of bodyweight before and after high-intensity work.

For example, a 20kg working dog would receive two tablets before and two tablets after the demanding activity.

Is there a loading period?

No. A loading dose is not required, making Octane practical for dogs whose workload varies throughout the week or season.

How does Octane support energy?

The formula approaches energy metabolism from several directions through ingredients including D-ribose, creatine, L-carnitine, CoQ10, BCAAs and magnesium.

How does it support recovery?

Octane combines amino acids and performance nutrients with antioxidant and connective-tissue ingredients to provide broad nutritional support after demanding physical activity.

Does it support joints as well as performance?

Yes. Octane contains both New Zealand Greenshell™ Mussel and NZ fish cartilage, alongside Vitamin C and other nutritional components relevant to joints and connective tissue.

What makes Octane different from a standard joint supplement?

A conventional joint supplement primarily targets cartilage and mobility. Octane is designed for the whole working dog, combining joint ingredients with nutrients relevant to muscular function, cellular energy, cardiovascular performance and recovery.

Does it contain creatine?

Yes. Each tablet contains 100mg of creatine monohydrate.

Does it contain Greenshell™ Mussel?

Yes. Each tablet provides 100mg of New Zealand Greenshell™ Mussel.

Is Octane suitable for older working dogs?

It may be particularly useful for older dogs that remain highly active because the formula provides broad nutritional support across energy, joints, muscles and recovery. Older dogs should still have their workload adjusted to their individual fitness and health.

Can I give Octane with other joint supplements?

Because Octane already contains Greenshell™ Mussel, fish cartilage and other nutrients, check the combined ingredient intake before stacking it with additional performance or joint supplements. Your veterinarian or animal healthcare professional can advise where necessary.

Does Octane replace food or hydration during work?

No. Octane is a supplement, not a replacement for appropriate nutrition, hydration, rest and sensible workload management. Working dogs should always have adequate recovery time and access to fresh water.

Which size should I choose?

The 60-tablet container is useful for lighter use, smaller dogs or trialling the product. The 180-tablet container offers better practicality for larger dogs, multi-dog working teams or animals working frequently.

Incredible stuff

I have a 7 year old large, working breed dog who is a townie 80% of the time. On occasion we visit his nana's "farm" (lifestyle block but we don't tell him that) and he "works" all day and them some. On a visit earlier this year I was concerned to notice that he was very stiff and sore climbing the stairs to go to bed at night, and even took a nose-dive going up the stairs. He was also starting to sit down in the paddocks when we were working. He is already on K9 Plus but clearly needed something more for these high-intensity days. I decided to give Octane Plus a go and could not believe the difference. He jumps around like a pup, scoots up the stairs at night but also seems to rest easier. Just so delighted to see the difference and his joy return.

Autumn Muster

I was given some as a trial, took it on a 4 day autumn on pretty hard shingle country. I gave it to my 9 1/2 year old heading dog morning and night the results were brilliant... Great stuff, will be using it again.

Keeping agility dogs in top notch condition

I have 2 border collies who compete in agility.
Riot had a nasty accident prior to starting her agility career back in 2013. Along with other alternative treatments such as acupuncture, K9+ helps to keep her playing her agility game.
I notice a difference in the days between doses if I run out, she becomes a little bit stiffer and not as able to keep up with the others.
The days prior to and over a show weekend I also use K9 Octane, and I have really noticed a difference in her performance, especially on day 2 of a show where she use to slow down a bit, she is now performing as well on day 2 as on day 1.

Hype is 20 months old and has just started her agility career, she has been on K9+ since I got her as a puppy.

As active dogs who are asked to perform all sorts of tight turns and obstacles at speed its really important that I am able to help support their joints for years to come to be able to keep them fit and happy.
It took me a while to find a product that I trusted and found actually worked, but since finding k9+ and K9 Octane I could not be happier, and neither could my girls!

Worked hard mustering for a week straight!

I have used K9 Octane Plus with my working dogs on an 1800ha hill country block at tailing and they worked hard mustering every day for a week straight and not one of them was slow out of the kennel on the last day, even the old girl.*

Hunted for four days straight

Hunted for four days straight with the dogs taking them. The old boy who's nearly 10 just kept going and going and recovered well. Normally takes a few days to recover after a day hunt. Young girl - was no stopping her.*

Abundant energy and focus

Whether it was the K9 octane, the new stick I got for my girl to fetch, another hunter in the mix or a combination of the above, the results I've had using the samples given have been instantaneous and always positive. I sampled it myself to be sure it was safe for my 40kg am bulldog girl and I was happy to give it to her.

Awesome performance over four days!

We attended the four day Agility Nationals plus one day of travelling there and back. Our dog Normal can only perform one day, stresses and then shuts down and goes flat..however she performed wonderfully all four days and was very relaxed.
